The Largest Single Stem Tree in the World, located in Califoria's Sequoia National Park
Earlier this week an Arborist aged just 23 was electrocuted while removing a Lilly Pilly Tree in Highett.
It is undoubtedly a sad time for all in the tree industry working in Melbourne and our thoughts are with his friends, family and colleagues. This is a great reminder to us as Arborist's to take extra care while working near power lines.
The tree industry is the 3rd most dangerous (behind fishing and mining) in Australia, taking into account serious and fatal injuries. Some say it is without doubt no. 1 because there are so many near misses not being undocumented.
