Check out a recent job we did where we removed a Gum tree in a confined space and salvaged the lumber, to later be made into planter boxes and gifted back to the customer.
The timber will take between 9 to 12 months to reach a moisture content reading stable enough to be made into furniture and craft items,. The yield on this log wasn't so great, but hey we'll be able to make at least 600 cheese platers out of it ;)
This video demonstrates the process of upcycling a standing tree to a planter box, from start to finish. We thought this would be a great opportunity to salvage as much timber as practically possible rather than see it go to waste, stay tuned for more upcycling ideas and initiatives, more coming!
The Lemon Scented Gum Tree was located in Blackburn South, Victoria and had to be removed because it was doing structural damage to walls and foundations of the house.
